Hi friend,
YES, my calendar is open again for portrait, boudoir and small business photo sessions! So many people have been asking and I'm delighted and grateful y'all are ready to come in.
I do ask that you be vaxxed, boosted and test beforehand, and I'll be doing the same. I'm also working as much as possible with clients in outdoor settings right now, especially as we move into summer.
Now on to this week's thought:
You know that basically everything you see online and in the media is fake-ish, right?
Skin smoothed, eyes and teeth brightened, wrinkles and acne removed, slimmed down, unreal perfection.
I do a VERY SMALL amount of skin smoothing and eye retouching for my own clients (no slimming), but today I want to share what a real human being looks like without retouching.
Let's deconstruct "beauty" as we know it and re-orient ourselves to the real.
Today, let's look at a Photoshop tutorial from Adobe, which says:
"Use Face-Aware Liquify to change a person's face
Face-Aware Liquify in Photoshop automatically detects facial features and helps you adjust them to enhance a portrait or add creative character to a fun shot.
In the sample image, we'll exaggerate this man's surprised expression by adjusting his eyes, mouth, and other facial features." (source)
In case you didn't catch that, it means that Photoshop can now change people's facial features and expressions semi-automatically.
Here's an animated demonstration of how it works:
