Hello dear First name / one,

The farther I get into this life, the clearer the paradoxes become. The skill of holding two separate truths in each hand is an indispensable tool to help us understand just how complex and also how simple things can be. It also serves to help us find other alternatives. When we can acknowledge the entire range of an issue instead of locking ourselves into a partisan view, a spectrum of possibilities becomes available for resolution.

The traditional binary in conflict hinders our progress. If you are on that side and I am on this one, the likelihood that I’m going to convince you to come over is slim. To move forward as a collective, we must shift the dialogue from right vs. wrong and us vs. them, to what is this issue serving? What are the underlying needs that are not being met? It’s not easy for us to engage in this dialogue, which is why we’ve struggled in opposition for so long. It’s why we’re comfortable in opposition. But just because we are skilled in struggle does not mean we are meant to perpetually exist there. We also have the skills to communicate tenderly, to quell the ego, and to listen. The “Both/And” perspective is of far greater value to our progress and prosperity.

AND YET this mental capacity is not an excuse to ignore the immediate messages from our bodies.

Yes, it is all so much.  My heart also breaks for the families in Buffalo, Uvalde, and Ukraine. The blood boils under my skin and heat rushes to my face with all of the pandering and shrugging and inaction from the media and elected officials. My guts are steeled against the grave infractions against our bodily autonomy. My hands anxiously fidget looking for more ways to protect what I love in this world. All of these physical cues tell me that I’m grieving and that I am angry. If I ignore them, I only compound and compress the feelings; clouding my judgment and isolating me further into a me vs. the other perspective.

So, I walk. I talk to my friends, family, and community. I cry. I go for a run. I curl up next to my dog in the morning and bury my face in her soft, forgiving neck, and she licks my ear until I can’t help but giggle. I pull up weeds from my garden as if I were a giant plucking certain figureheads right up and out of their seats. I drink water. I give thanks. I touch trees, I brush grass, I hold rocks. I do all of these things to regulate my nervous system so that I can do the work of continuing the dialogue, of holding space for others, and tapping in when others need to tap out.

Tomorrow’s New Moon in Gemini peaking at 4:30am will give us an energetic surge to align our actions with our feelings. A Gemini moon is communicative, playful, and desires exchange. It is quick-thinking and airy; able to keep a cool head in conflict, or emotionally retreat into numbness. Err on the side of the former. Do not get so caught up in your head that you forget the body or your feelings.

This moon is sextile Mars which will just be coming out of an exact conjunction with Jupiter. This is big moves energy. Lucky and expansive Jupiter hooking up with action-oriented and ambitious Mars needs something to funnel all of that energy into, and as it is a New Moon this is an opportune time to start your next big project. Dive in, say yes. Perhaps you’ve been waiting for the green light on something, go for it!

On a collective level, we could see a major turning point in the media, messaging or how things are being communicated. We’re already seeing very public condemnation of the way things have been done when it comes to handling collective tragedy. This moment in time could inspire the next wave of journalists, media-outlets, and speakers.

Venus has also moved into Taurus this weekend where she is comfy in her velvet and lace. So we are likely to be feeling the invitation to treat ourselves well; to prioritize rest, adorn ourselves with our favorite fabrics and scents, and eat our favorite early summer foods.

There’s a desire and an opportunity to shift out of the hand-to-hand combat of conflict and into the wisdom of resolution. Under this moon we can align focused action with our feelings and our values. We are more likely to want to engage in dialogue, to communicate our needs and seek out new ways to meet them.

FOR THE BODY

Gemini rules the shoulders, arms, hands; respiratory system: lungs, bronchial tubes; and the capillaries. This is a sign of communication and exchange so it covers the systems in our body that exchange life-force.

â—¦
Especially as Covid numbers continue to surge and old viruses make a comeback, it's important to support your respiratory system by protecting yourself and exercising your lung capacity.

â—¦

If you're familiar with 4-7-8 breathing, take it up a notch by pursing your lips on the exhale to create a little extra pressure that will strengthen the lungs and the release of carbon dioxide.

â—¦
Strengthen your capillaries with kale, mustard greens, or collard greens, which are all high in vitamin K.

â—¦
Add gingko supplements to your morning routine to support the mind, and use lavender to soothe the senses at the end of the day.

â—¦

Get a manicure or wear agate and moonstone rings.

I'm humbled and thrilled by the responses to Honored Body's new offerings. Offering Human Design in person has been a goal of mine since the pandemic made it less accessible, and House Nine provides the most beautiful setting!
If you are local to or visiting PDX, let's sit together to analyze your chart and practice simple somatic exercises to begin embodying your design.

For a longer, more in-depth reading and a container for ongoing support, check out INITIATION: Month or INITIATION: Season.

And last, but certainly not least, the super popular Office Hours! These are three deeply-discounted, one-on-one, 60-minute sessions for first time clients per month. Ask any questions you have about Human Design, embodiment and deconditioning. Times for June are posted below.

I hope you know your skills are not limited to what degree you have, or what industry you work in. Your gifts are not just in service of your career.
They are gifts after all. Meant to be shared because they shift the collective.
