Hi First name / friend! 11 shoots and 6 weddings in about 4 weeks time. That was what I was up to while I was in Europe and also the reason why I've been awol on social media. And on top of that, I'm also happy to tell you that James and I are expecting a little one! A lot to process and a lot to figure out before little kid is coming as you can imagine ;) In the last months I've been published in 4 different magazines so I'm very excited to share with you some of the stories in the upcoming journals! Not much else to report but please get in touch when you do! |

‘’Fran, come look, Max is waking up’’. Erin is tipping her toes as she excitingly walks towards her 1930’s vibe bedroom. Erin has a smile from ear to ear on her face, utterly in love, looking at Max in her cot.’’ I grab my camera and immediately take some photos, the whole house is relaxed and Max is smiling when she sees her mum. Erin goes to feed Max while quickly eating toast with vegemite. |
‘’The first time I really felt like a mum was when Max spewed all over me'' Erin tells me with a big smile. We walk through their garden, exploring all the corners of the property and after each corner there is something new to see. A future office, a quinch tree (I didn't even know what a quinch was before this session) and all the oldtimers. I was in photography heaven and Erin and Jerrod where incredibly welcoming. |

Curious to know what it's like to work with me? I explain my whole process down below: |
A little bit nervous but quite excited, I opened the gate. Josephine had changed her outfit from what she had on in the morning, when I first approached her. The first thing she asked me was if I wanted a ‘’low alcohol percentage white wine’’, ‘’ehh definitely’’ I said! We sat down on her victorian porch where she poured ourselves German white wine and that’s how we started to talk. |
‘’By accident I started studying Botany where I also happened to meet my late husband. He was a professor and botanist, specialising in ferns and a wine connoisseur. We used to drink wine every day'' Josephine says with a twinkle in her eye. As a botanist, Josephine specialised in native Daisies and explored the hills of New Zealand to find them. |
We got up and went for a stroll through her garden. The bird noice is overpowering and the bumble bees as working hard. Josephine explains every little detail of her garden and we end up stopping at a gorgeous old Rhodondendron. ‘’This used to be my great grandmothers, smell it!'' Josephine says and I dip my nose in the flower to smell the intense sweet smell of this beautiful plant. |
I was nervous to meet the woman behind the garden at first but from the moment Josephine talked I felt welcome and I feel lucky she was happy to share with me her story and her garden. |
