Dear First name / Friend,

The other day I had a powerful final session with a client who was wrapping her life coaching program.

When I asked her if she had any unresolved challenges or topics to address, she named something really important.

She described her current state as “joyful and messy.” She felt proud of her progress, but realized that parts of her life she previously thought were healthy were no longer serving her. She was grieving her former self.

For the record: this describes a very normal human experience with coaching.

When you start your journey, you take action, see results, and get excited. Then eventually, you have a setback or discover that the “new you” needs to say goodbye to a few things. Yikes.

I often describe this process as shedding identities. Over time, you may have become attached to things like your job title, a role you play in your family, the way you talk to yourself, or how you spend your time. These things have served you by making you feel safe, accepted, or in control. So when you start making changes, it can feel scary as hell.

Coaching is like riding a bike without training wheels for the first time. You're peddling and watching the bike wobble and move forward, but worry that at any minute, it will fall over and you'll feel defeated.

But I want you to continue getting on the bike and peddling, even when you are feeling scared.

These small acts of courage lead to BIG acts of courage that take you to your next level and allow you to live a happy life.

So - while you're putting in the work and getting used to the “new you,” how do you hold yourself accountable? What habits do you need to develop to continue your progress? What do you do when you hit bumps in the road?

Many of you have reached out to me this year saying that you want more resources to continue your growth. Whether you just signed up for coaching or completed a program two years ago, you are a lifelong learner. You are always evolving and rediscovering what you need.

And that is why I've decided to launch The Coaching Corner. This free newsletter is designed exclusively for my current and past coaching clients. It's a little gift from me to you!

Like The Thirlby Company's Monthly Digest, The Coaching Corner will only go out once per month. Each issue will be a 2-minute read with a coaching message and one journal prompt to explore. Plain and simple.

The Coaching Corner is an opportunity for you to pause, reflect, and take care of yourself. And of course - it's my excuse to connect with you and say hello when I'm missing your face.

If the newsletter is not for you, you can unsubscribe anytime - no hard feelings. Just be sure you're exploring resources to consistently invest in your potential. You deserve it.

with gratitude,
