EARN AFTER READING

Don't we all love a little self-care, First name / babe?

I've been feeling under the weather due to cov*d, and it has me all in my self-care feels. I've been taking lots of warm epsom salt baths, reading and lounging, and taking my vitamins - all with good reason.

It's funny though because I feel our culture is always preaching self-care. But when is it self-care and when is it just laziness? 🤭 You know I'm a big proponent of maximizing your wellness and taking care of yourself, but I also believe in hustling. I believe too much of one or the other can be disastrous - you either chill out so much you become complacent in your goals or you hustle too much your burn out.

Where's the happy medium?

One thing I'm {still} learning after 10+ years of entrepreneurship in my adulthood is to lean into what your body is telling you. 👂

You have to become intuitive with the messages your body is giving you and learn when it's time to slow down vs. when your body can handle the amp up.

I knew last week before I even felt sick or tested for cov*d my body was doing everything in its power to slow me down. I wasn't feeling energized, my workouts weren't going great, and I wanted to fight it so bad {I had shit to do, duh}!

When you know your body needs rest, lean into that. Do what feels good. Measure your output. Understand when it's time to close shop and maintain healthy boundaries.

☝️ All that sounds great, but what about the hustle? How do you know when it's time to go the extra mile?

Just like you listen to your body when it needs time to recover, listen to your body when it has the energy available to expend. Learn when you have the power to work the extra hour, or the creative flow to brainstorm that new idea, or the energy hit those new PRs in the gym. Learn to spot the signals to push harder - because they're there.

Your body, mind, and spirit are capable of hard things, just as they're capable of rest.

What flow state are you in this week? Tune in.

Show yourself some love today, First name / babe.
you've earned it.

As always,
Taylor
