THE WEEKLY GOOSE

NO: 072 |  06.29.2022
Good morning and Happy Canada Day this coming Friday!

Did you know? Canada became a country on July 1, 1867, when the British Parliament passed the British North America Act. However, it took almost another hundred years for Canada to get its own flag, which occurred on February 15, 1965.

We're still in Nova Scotia, learning so much about the incredible Acadian culture that dates back to the 1700s. We're also pretty excited to be celebrating Canada Day in Halifax this year. It's always interesting to see how other cities celebrate the milestone. Happy Canada Day!

But without further ado, enjoy the 72nd edition of The Weekly Goose, which features a video about Canada Day in Ontario, a travel guide to the best Canada road trips, an article with more than 200 interesting Canadian facts, and more!

BEAVER BITES

  • Canada might be a relatively new country but the land itself isn't new at all. A baby woolly mammoth, which was frozen for roughly 40,000 years, was just discovered in Yukon’s gold fields and is the first ever found in North America. Some museum is about to get more interesting!

  • One of the top Canadian travel experiences is to go camping. However, bugs can be a pain. So, here are the ten best bug sprays on the market to keep them at bay.

  • Another wonderful way to enjoy Canada is by going on a road trip. Back in 2017, we took a 150-day road trip across the country to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. Whether you want to read about it, enjoy the incredible videos, or plan your own, you'll find it all here.

  • If you're still not sure what to do on July 1st, here are some ideas on what's happening on Canada Day across the country.
