EARN AFTER READING

Hey First name / babe,

You know what my least favorite universal feeling is?

Self-consciousness. 🙄

Like can we all agree negative self-consciousness is the absolute worst?

One thing I find solace in is knowing we all have our moments of self-doubt. Every human, no matter how beautiful, smart, healthy, rich, or successful they are, struggles with moments of feeling self-conscious.

The difference, I think between having those inevitable moments of ick about ourselves vs actually allowing it to affect our self-CONFIDENCE, is how long we allow ourselves to sit with it. How we spin it.

For example, lately I've been feeling SUPER self-conscious about my tummy. I think now that's it summer all the soft rolls and pregnancy stretch marks are making me cringe when I hop into a bikini, even if it's just in front of my partner and kids.

But here's how I've been approaching it 👇
  1. First, I acknowledge what I'm feeling. “Hey self, yes you're feeling a little self-conscious right now about your tummy. It's normal." I allow myself to feel the feels - again it's human nature.
  2. Then, when I'm done feeling all the feels, I remind myself of what I'm really proud of and all the things I LOVE about myself… “Yes, I'm feeling that way, but GIRL have I seen my legs lately?! They feel so strong and are so beautiful. I'm so confident when I show my legs.”
  3. And once that's done, I move my attention elsewhere. Step away from the mirror, file away the thought, and put on the damn bikini!!
I know it can sound easier said then done, but the longer we wallow in feelings of self-consciousness the more we allow that negative energy to affect us. What we start thinking becomes our reality and that negativity can hold us back from SO MUCH GOODNESS - keeping us stuck in fear, or doubt, or embarrassment, or self-pity.

Acknowledge what you're feeling. Remind yourself it's valid. Give yourself some love. And then REFOCUS your attention.

Does it completely rid the feelings? No, but can it help you learn to put your attention on the positive thoughts vs letting your attention stick with the negatives? Yes.

Try out this exercise because you're too good to be letting thoughts of self-consciousness hold you back from being your greatest self and doing the things that you want to do ❤️

Show yourself some love today, First name / babe.
you've earned it.

As always,
Taylor
