Celebrating NAIDOC with NITA.

In palawa kani, nita means ‘brother’. Having lost her's at just 28, Trish Hodge named her business NITA Education to always have him with her.

NITA Education teaches school kids about Aboriginal Culture and history through Bush Foods tours and other hands on activities.

Trish and the NITA team are leading the way in increasing awareness and understanding for Aboriginal people and Culture. We're proud to partner with them to deliver Aboriginal experiences at Spring Bay Mill.

We keep Freestone Point open to members of the local Aboriginal Community. Many who come here to practice Cultural Burning and enjoy this longstanding gathering place of their Ancestors.

NAIDOC Week is an annual reminder of the importance in bringing Aboriginal voices to the fore and listening deeply in a colonial world where so much was stolen.

This week and every week we are committed to learning more about the richness and resilience of Aboriginal Culture. And to doing more to support their continuing fight for justice and equality.
