First name / there,

A few weeks ago I wrote about what felt like a bottomless buffet of school closing activities (i.e. pre-K grad, ballet recital, even a school play where I didn't know anyone but still cried sentimental tears…)  Since then, I've been a little checked out on social media.

I'm usually on (and ON!) quite a bit, sharing tips and tricks on taking action, my clients' successes, rave reviews, and daily snippets of my life.

I started to feel hard on myself because I somehow felt like sharing on social media is something I *should* constantly be doing for my business.

Even when I know in my heart and in this very season, I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing: soaking up the kids and celebrating their summer break with them.

I'm not even “taking a break”. I am simply swapping a lot of the time I spend on social media with being truly present with my family and friends.

I needed to pause, really explore my feelings on this and remind myself: it is alllll okay. We don't have to be on all of the time.

Just like the summer, this is a season.

I decided I'm going to allow myself the season to watch and wait on the sidelines of swimming lessons, eat blackberry ice cream, and host the most epic bonfires. Ours have kids running around, adults toasting to the sunset, and sometimes a late night movie projected on the side of the house.  Not to mention s'mores for days and days.

“He's never going to want to go to another party again," said the mom of one of the kids I hosted over the weekend. “Sorry! (but also NOT sorry!)” I responded with a big smile, full of pride.

I really love this life I created for myself and my family. It took a lot of daring decisions but it's well worth it. At the end of the day, I get to choose what I want more or less of – you can, too.
xx, Leah
