Hi friends!
This week's newsletter has a theme - it's all about getting off the gas and transitioning to an electric future (powered by renewables of course!). Now, I'm not perfect on this front - I live in an 1890s weatherboard house, in the frosty Macedon Ranges. And since I'm planning on building a super dooper sustainable certified passive house in the next few years - I've always thought that future was my focus and there was no point in upgrading our current house to being all electric.
I'm now re-thinking that point of view - one, I'll still be here for a few years, and I'm also thinking about the future owners of our house. And hopefully by the time we're ready to sell our old cottage, the future will be looking vastly different and everyone will have an expectation that our homes are all electric. So I will delve into researching induction cooktops, electric hot water systems and electric cars in the meantime!
Bit by bit, one step at a time - I hope this resource helps navigate the process of decarbonising our future.
