Oh wow Winter….we're rugging up & on the road
It's so cold where I live! Trangie is not renowned for super cold winters but this year is giving us an idea of what it must be like to live in cooler climes (and soggy ones at that!). For farmers it's been a bit of a struggle getting winter crops in and summer crops off but we're getting there. June was an absolute ‘delight’ of financial planning and EOFY reporting - the struggle was real!

July is an exciting month for us as we head to northern NSW for our final two NSW events - Moree this Thursday 21 July and Tamworth this Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July.  We are proud to present 63 NSW and Queensland Boarding Schools at these events for families to consider, and we love that our exhibiting schools absolutely relish the opportunity to head out to us.

On a personal note, our son Ollie (our poster boy for 2022 & pictured here in the blue shirt) is up on a cattle station just south of Mount Isa and I have successfully managed to get Farmer Ross ‘sorted’ to hit the road ! I am so bloody excited ! We haven't seen him since the end of January and I know it's going to be an emotional reunion…. well it will be on my part!  When Adelaide and I went up to Blackall in June for the QLD ICPA State Conference I actually found that incredibly difficult - to be so close but still too far to ‘pop over’ for a quick visit. Ollie phoned during one of the conference sessions and let me tell you I jumped off and took out the back door so quickly other delegates must have imagined an emergency of some sort … nope just the boy on the road to one of the other stations ringing his Mum while he had some reception.

We often talk about distance and parenting here at Boarding Schools Expo, and I truly know how lucky I was to be within 6 hours of our children's schools for the 12 years of boarding school. I probably spent way too much time on the road and down in Sydney - my Driver's Licence is still in ‘recovery mode’. It's not lost on me though, what a privilege that was, that I lived close enough to be able to do so. That said have a look at the video below by Dr Justin Coulsen about staying connected with your child.

Enjoy our catch up below and look forward to meeting some of you this week at Moree and Tamworth - hopefully I'll be focussed and professional and not jumping around with glee at the prospect of hitting the road to Mount Isa on Monday!

This is how they do it….
Boarding Schools Profile
18 years ago we started out with one event in Dubbo. 15 boarding schools from Sydney and regional NSW put their faith in this ‘new’ model and turned up. So did 60 rural and remote families. Some driving up to 400 km to meet with and discuss their child’s education opportunities.
From there, Boarding Schools Expo Australia (BSEA) has welcomed over 11,000 children and their families to 54 face-to-face events.
We’ve grown alongside digital mediums of marketing and we’ve embraced new technologies and with that in mind, in 2022 we have proudly launched our virtual platform, ‘Boarding Expo 365’.
It’s been a very busy start up, and just as back in 2005, we’ve had 17 schools from Victoria, NSW, ACT, Queensland and NT show their faith in our dream and subscribe.
We know that the virtual medium will grow, and it is with this absolute commitment to reaching families across Australia wherever they live, that we will continue to encourage boarding schools to list with ‘Boarding Expo 365’.
Just as those 60 families showed up in 2005, we’re asking you to simply click through via the link above and have a look. Support the schools who are committed to reaching you where you live and making your journey towards boarding school that little bit easier.
Open 365 days of the year right from the places you call home.
Keep returning as often as you like – we’re sure schools will continue to sign up throughout the year.
You can explore your options, leave messages for the school representatives and make your own digital showbag as you narrow down your selection.

There is no better way to begin the conversation than by visiting one of our Expo events. This week we'll be joined by 63 Boarding Schools (31 at Moree and 32 at Tamworth) from regional NSW and Queensland, along with Sydney and Brisbane. THURSDAY in MOREE & FRI/SAT in TAMWORTH.
Our events are truly a comfortable and non-intimidating way to explore ALL of your options - even if you're only just beginning to wonder if boarding school is for your family? Visit, it's FREE. You can take your time, chat to as many school representatives as you like and explore each unique offering of each school. It's really that easy.
Perhaps you've been to an Expo before? We welcome you again! Come back and connect with the schools you've begun conversations with.
Many families leave their decision until the last minute…. by doing this you will run the risk that the school of your choice does not have a space for your child. Boarding Schools Expo Australia provides you and your family the opportunity to connect with schools while your children are young and in a warm and welcoming place close to where you call home.
Allow plenty of time if you're visiting, and pre-register…. there's a $400 gift voucher from BuyFromTheBush up for grabs if you pre-register AND attend either Moree or Tamworth.
(Got a connection with a school that's attending? Reach out and let them know you'll be there.)

Some of the things we're loving…..

Share our newsletter with a friend and let them discover the good news about boarding and building communities away from the places we call home.
Enjoy your week, tune in to Destination Boarding, The Podcast,
Until next Month,
