Hey First name / friends!

This week we’re talking about one of my favorite things - seamless patterns! Knowing how to make seamless patterns is a vital skill if you want to become a surface designer. Seamless patterns are used on countless products like fabric, wallpaper, bedding, and more.

#CreateWithCatCoq - Retro Patterns
This week, we’ll build off of the retro theme from last week’s challenge and create a retro-inspired seamless pattern!

I’ve recently been loving the new Pattern Preview tool in Photoshop for turning my analog artwork into seamless patterns. If you’re new to this tool, check out this blog post to learn how to use it. It has sped up my workflow so much!
If you haven’t made a pattern before and want some more in-depth guidance on how to do it, join me in one of my Skillshare classes on pattern-making.

Want a behind-the-scenes look at my art business? Join me for a workshop with Audra King (@shelovesherbiz) this Thursday, August 4th at 1pm EST! I’m so excited to dive deep into alllllllll the details about how I run a creative business, how I make business fun, and how you can create a life like this for yourself!

Plus, I’ll share tips for how I keep up with my business while traveling the world full time. I’m so excited for this workshop!

And the best part? You can sign up for just $7. All of the proceeds will be donated to Kiva, an organization that lends money to low-income entrepreneurs around the world. Kiva is near and dear to my heart, so a big thank you to everyone who signs up for the workshop!
