“Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August” -Jenny Han

Hello friends,
How does your summer grow? Here we are, July almost over! Have you done a few things on your summer bucket list? One way to make summer special is to celebrate the small things: not just obvious holidays like the fourth of July, but small things like the first ripe tomatoes, a bouquet of flowers you grew from seed, a full moon, and a bug-free summer night.

Here at Bella Botanica, we love celebrating small things. One of those small things is coming up this Saturday, July 30. It's the fifth Saturday of the month. This may not seem very special to you, but it only happens a few times a year, and why not celebrate one extra Saturday of summer?

At our Fifth Saturday celebration, refreshments will be served - some fresh from our kitchen garden. We also have local maker, Annette @ Sorella's who will be our pop-up vendor. Annette makes mahogany charcuterie boards with beach glass from Lake Michigan.

New merchandise is filling the shoppe, and we can't wait for you to see what we've gathered for you! Herbs will be buy one, get one free, and the remaining clearance items will all be 75% off, so come celebrate with us.
See you then!

The shade in summer provides such respite from the heat, and the shade garden need not be boring. It can be interesting and even glorious! I've been gardening in the shade for years and even prefer it to sunny gardens.
The key to shade gardens is to focus on the foliage, using different shades of green and different textures/sizes of leaves.
Here are three made for the shade:
Heucherella ‘Pink Revolution’, Hosta ‘Rainbow’s End', and Aralia ‘Sun King’
Now available here at the shoppe!

Here's your reminder to harvest your herbs every couple weeks now into fall. This will encourage more leaf production, prevent flowers from forming, and keep you supplied all winter with dried herbs from the garden.
