BEAVER BITES

  • While we certainly think he should at least foot his own bill, Pope Francis made a historic apology for the Catholic Church's role in Canada's Indigenous residential schools system during his visit to Edmonton this week.

  • We drove across the country in 2017, but Alberta man Dave Proctor ran across Canada this year, breaking the 1991 record set for the fastest run across Canada, averaging more than 100 kilometres a day for just over 67 days. Finishing at the Terry Fox monument in Victoria, Dave Proctor said: "I've just seen the most beautiful country in the world, and I suggest every Canadian do the same thing.” If you don't have the time for that, you can see most of Canada in our Youtube videos.

  • We all know Canada is #1 for many reasons (yes, we're a bit patriotic), but it's no secret to the rest of the world either. Canada's current backlog of immigration applications just hit 2.7 million, an all-time high that is only projected to grow.

  • While still relatively low, The confirmed number of monkeypox cases across the country just hit 681, and has now been declared a global health emergency as it is now in more than 70 countries.

  • Air Canada and United have been partners for many years but they're now taking their relationship to the next level by agreeing to coordinate their networks and schedules to offer more flights to the US.

  • Are you looking to avoid air and road trip woes? We just did an interview with the Globe & Mail to go over some tips for avoiding just that.
