Did You See the MPS Quilt Show?
Hello Friends!

Some fun things to share with you today - including a gallery of quilt show pictures.
I've made a tiny bit of progress on my EPP journey - more about that in a minute.

And - after a month off, the Quilter's Block Remix Design Challenge is back. This month we're tackling the classic “Shoofly” block.

First up though - let's get to the pictures!

On July 23rd The Metropolitan Patchwork Society held our annual quilt show in the trees at Evelyn Schiffler park in Beaverton, Oregon.

I spent a lovely morning taking pictures, visiting with friends I haven't seen in forever, and becoming more inspired by every new quilt I saw. I created a gallery on the website of the many beautiful quilts I took pictures of. You can see it by clicking HERE or on the picture above.

Ok - I finally got started. The flower above is the first of many to come. I even have an unusual setting in mind - way down the road. Here's a link to more about what I'm learning and the stumbling blocks I discovered almost right away … Read more …

It occurred to me - since so many of you were kind enough to send me pictures of your own EPP projects - that a group could be a fun way for those of us interested in this process to connect and share what we are working on.

This private Facebook group will be entirely focused on English Paper Piecing. I'll continue sharing about my EPP journey in that group and on my blog - rather than here in the eNewsletter.

Interested? Just click HERE - or on the picture below to join the group.

The Shoofly Quilt Block
After a month away - it's time for another Pattern Designers Quilt Block Remix. Each Monday in August - starting on the 8th - we'll be sharing steps in our design process. You can follow along on Instagram.

Use the hashtags #morethanjustablockchallenge and

This time we are going to “remix” the classic “Shoofly” block. That always sends me to my trusty guide for classic/traditional quilt blocks.

I love having the math already done for me (in 5 different sizes) for every one of the 110 blocks included in this book. Read More …

Thank you for joining me in the pursuit of creativity and being my fellow co-creator. I look forward to seeing what you're working on and sharing what I'm working on with you - until then - all the best to you!
