BEAVER BITES

  • Canada might be getting a new “major” airline. Well, it's not quite new, but Toronto-based Porter Airlines, which currently serves only Ontario, Quebec, and parts of Eastern USA, is positioning itself to become Canada’s number two carrier. They're buying lots of new jets to expand service into other parts of Canada, the USA, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Perhaps airfares will get cheaper?

  • While travel did get a boost with restrictions ending many months ago, it looks like 80% of Canadians feel that inflation has impacted their summer plans per CIBC. Toss in the high cost of fuel and it looks like people might be staying closer to home. Maybe.

  • With high heat across Canada this week, and likely for the next month, here's some tips for where to place fans in your home for maximum cooling.

  • Interested in buying a wilderness resort and rafting company near Ottawa? We're actually going to be rafting with OWL Rafting this coming Friday, but it looks like the owners are ready to retire. It is their fervent wish that they find kindred spirits, who share their vision and will invest as much of their heart and soul into this endeavour. Is it you?

  • We know it's not Canada but we just can't get over the fact that someone in the USA won $1.337 billion USD in a lottery! What! Imagine waking up a billionaire? Well, maybe not quite after taxes, but still… if you won and you're reading this, can you put us in your will?
