Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 inspiring things I thought were worth starting your week with:

  1. 👩 In 2017, the journalist Gemma Hartley wrote an article for Harper's Bazaar titled "Women Aren't Nags—We're Just Fed Up", about the struggles women face in trying to divide household labor equitably, including both the visible labor and the invisible mental labor that women end up doing much more of. (source: Wikipedia). My favorite part in the article was: "If I were to point out random emotional labor duties I carry out—reminding him of his family’s birthdays, carrying in my head the entire school handbook and dietary guidelines for lunches, updating the calendar to include everyone’s schedules, asking his mother to babysit the kids when we go out, keeping track of what food and household items we are running low on, tidying everyone’s strewn about belongings, the unending hell that is laundry—he would take it as me saying, “Look at everything I’m doing that you’re not. You’re a bad person for ignoring me and not pulling your weight.”" Wow. Tell me if it resonated with you.
  2. 📱 If you prefer to track your goals and habits digitally rather than in a paper planner like my favorite Full Focus Planner, here is a list of 7 Goal Tracking Apps to Help You Reach Your Goals that you can try.
  3. 🎒 Sorry to remind you but...schools are around the corner, and because it has multiple tasks and takes energy, time, and money; going back to school is a project, so make sure you treat it like one. You can do this planning well for it using checklists like this one, or by creating your own lists with titles such as (To Do/To Buy). Personally, I will heavily depend on Dumyah.com for stationery shopping.
  4. 🌚 I recently attempted to answer a Quora question about the best evening habits that I recommend; please check it out and vote my answer up, perhaps? And yeah, that profile picture you will see is old, from my blonde hair year.
  5. 💬 I love quotes about beginning anew every day:
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
