Hello dear First name / one,

I am fortunate enough to really love my work 95% of the time. My clients are inspiring, generous, complex, and delightful humans with whom I have the pleasure of learning and communing. Our sessions cultivate an Epicurean vision of a large garden with benches, pillows, and lounges for reclining; snacks of fruits, veggies, and flowers; and long hours of sharing ideas and experiences. The sharing and the processing are my favorite parts. But there are also the parts of my work that do not inspire and delight me; things like content design, admin tasks, and back-end development.

These things tend to require so much of my energy to do them, versus the infinite capacity I have to be a guide for my clients.

Many of us are built to do, endowed with an immeasurable and invaluable energy for creation. But it does not serve us to do at the expense of being. Being precedes doing. It is a requisite for the choices that further us toward our desires, aligning us with our inner directives. When we are being the self that prioritizes our authenticity and our purpose within each context, the correct decisions are clearer, even obvious. And for those of us not built to do, it is all the more important that we redirect our energy back from the doing to the being; to illustrate successful doing by being.

The simple Human Design perspective on this groups Sacral beings  (Generators + Manifesting Generators) as “doers” and non-Sacral beings (Projectors, Manifestors + Reflectors) as “be-ers.” But this is not entirely true nor congruent. Non-Sacral beings are just as capable of creating and building things with their own energy, especially if they have a motor center defined. But regardless of definition, simply being clear on who you are and what you are here to do is the first step in discerning your desires and building a path toward them—identifying your Self with the actions, behaviors and perspectives that further your growth and expansion.

Six months ago, during the New Moon in Aquarius, we distinguished the difference between doing and being. We are conditioned to believe that “doing” is more valuable than being, because doing usually generates a product that can be commodified. It is harder to commodify a way of being, or a Being, themselves. So, we preoccupy ourselves with what can be done. When we are concerned with what there is to do, the tasks seem to multiply. They overwhelm our senses and buoy us in an ocean of stuff and things to attend to. It can be easy to lose sight of who we are being amidst all the doing.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

Aquarius wants the best for everyone, but isn’t afraid to make a new beginning in order to resolve a conflict. It also is a sign that lives its morals unwaveringly. Aquarius understands the stability that comes from one’s being, and of acting from that unshakable place. It exemplifies individuation as the greatest benefit to the community. That once you understand who you are as an individual, you know exactly how you fit into the Cosmic Whole, how you serve your community and collective by being that individuated self.

A Full Moon in Aquarius has a need for emotional freedom, but also a sense of wholeness when in community. And like other full moons, these next few days through the next couple weeks will be a good time to reflect and release what is no longer serving your relationships and your emotional world, as they relate to your community and to the new ways of being that you’ve been fostering these last couple years. Remember change takes time, and we are collectively in an immense period of growth that can be uncomfortable and by the same token inspiring.

This moon is also square Uranus and conjunct Saturn, so you may be encountering unexpected limitations and it may be harder to trust your feelings. There could be emotional tension, instability, or the pressure to take radical action. Saturn is offering lessons in emotional bandwidth, maturity, and resilience. Perhaps the last time you were in a similar situation you reacted in a way that exacerbated tensions or compromised your values. You are allowed to act differently, from everything you know now. You are allowed to release the guilt and shame of past mistakes and behaviors that no longer serve who you are becoming

Saturn and Uranus have been squaring one another and this aspect will peak October 3-6 this year. We also have a handful of planets currently retrograde (Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto), and Uranus will join them at the end of this month. Retrogrades are opportunities of reflection and revisitation. Do not be surprised if some of the same themes come back around that you could have sworn you were done with. Commit to your new perspectives, and be done with them. Our paths are winding, sometimes leading us away from what we think we want, or round about because there’s still more to learn before we reach the next gateway. We often find ourselves in situations where there is a branching; both arms can be our path, but when we are clear, only one moves us closer to our desires.

This full moon is known as the Sturgeon Moon in North America and is the last Supermoon of this year. Way to knock out summer with a bang, eh? Sturgeon are massive, prehistoric fish with a lifespan of 50-150 years. We have much to learn from these ancients about resiliency, patience, and finding joy. Although their habitats have been damaged and destroyed, they’ve been overfished and poached for their caviar, they continue to take their sweet time maturing—sometimes not reproducing until nearly 20 years old, and then only once every four years. They are also known to leap out of the water up to 7 feet as a way of communicating through acoustics and possibly because it “just feels good.”

The August full moon is also known as the Lightning Moon (for late summer storms), Corn Moon (for the early season of harvest), and the Lynx Moon (for the beginning of nature’s big hunting season.)
