Hi everyone, Happy August! I am super excited to share this project with you. This home in Cartersville presented a unique opportunity to marry my love of traditional design elements with fun, modern color. The owners wanted to keep the historic feel of their house while still bringing in lots of fun hues & patterns. Keep reading to see how we pulled it off!

TIP #1 - MAIN SPIRIT

Start with an inspo piece.

This whole dining room was inspired by the china plates you see on the mantle. The colors are bold and the pattern incorporates both florals and animals. Those motifs gave us a great jumping off point when choosing a wallpaper for this room.
TIP #2 - MIXERS

Embrace the quirks.

Older homes often have some weirdly shaped spaces. Instead of trying to hide the low sloping ceiling of this powder room, we chose to draw attention to the unique feature by wallpapering it & painting the molding. The room became a cozy, cocoon-like space that invites you to examine all the fun print details going on in one tiny area.
TIP #3 - GARNISH

Bold juxtapositions.

Nothing makes you look cooler than combining the uber-modern with the more traditional. The way this brightly colored abstract painting works against the classic pheasant print wallpaper is just *chef's kiss.* If your space is feeling a little one-note, try layering two opposing styles right on top of each other for a vignette that's sure to pack a punch!
