AUGUST NEWSLETTER

Dear Camp People,
It's hard to believe we've closed the books on another summer of camp. Our campers are back home, and our summer staff are back to college or to permanent employment. The Camp Directors will gather in a few weeks to begin our planning for Summer Camp 2023.

That also means it's time for families, churches, and organizations to plan their retreat outings! A weekend at camp is a wonderful way to go deeper in both faith and in relationship building. Call our administrative office to discuss availability and options.

Or, if you'd rather sign up for a Crossways event, check out the line-up of our retreats this season. Registration opens soon!

Youth Camp
When most people think of summer camp, they picture the classic youth camp experience. Campers from 1st-12th grades come for a full or half week of community building, fun activities, and faith development. It's amazing how quickly campers make new friends and how easily they adapt to new routines. Whether singing silly songs, learning about their faith, or trying archery for the first time, camp gives young people the chance to be themselves and to grow in a safe and caring environment.

Community Partners
Crossways has a long history of partnering with community organizations. Every program is a little bit different, but they are all mutually beneficial. Our community partners get to enjoy a beautiful environment with abundant hospitality, and Crossways is able to fill our summer calendar. Our newest partner is the Diocese of Fond du Lac of the Episcopal Church. This was their second summer at Waypost, and it’s starting to feel like home to them.

"Here at EpiscoWisco Camp, we are grateful to continue building our relationships with Crossways and Waypost Camp! Our campers and staff were blessed by our time at Waypost Camp in June. Whether working together at low ropes, building confidence at archery, exploring creation on hikes & nature walks, or celebrating Holy Eucharist in the chapel or at the Chi Rho, we were thrilled to have had such a beautiful and holy space to gather. We can't wait to see what God has in store for the 2023 season!"

Homecoming 2022 – Save the Date
Last fall, we decided to try something new. Instead of holding a fancy Gala dinner, we planned a Homecoming event to welcome people back to camp after Covid kept so many of us away. It was a wonderful day of reunion and outdoor fun. The response was so positive, we're planning Homecoming 2022.

Homecoming 2022 at Waypost Camp
Saturday, October 8, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

We're still planning all the details, but we hope you'll put a note on your calendar now. We'll have classic camp activities, a great meal, and a chance to tour the site. This will also be a fundraiser event, helping to raise campership money for our Summer 2023 campers!
