here's somethingā€¦

Welcome to my newsletter, ā€œhere's somethingā€¦ā€!

Growing up with two older sisters meant lots of inside jokes. Even now as adults we still belly laugh over little nonsense phrases that no one else understands, some of which we can't even remember the origins. The phrase ā€œhere's somethingā€ became one of these cherished little giggle-inducing phrases after a 7yo girl we all babysat went through a season of using it to preface literally everything she said.

And now, it's the name of my newsletter.

I've been feeling a pull for a while to share less fully on Instagram. Over the last two years, there have been lots of times that I write whole captions only to decide not to post them. Blogging also feels a little too public. I want to save my most precious thoughts and best writing (some of which is just slightly over the caption limit) for those of you who are invested rather than tossing it out to the masses or risking that you might not even see it according to the algorithm. A newsletter also gives me the ability to step away from Instagram for a time without losing touch with youā€”and remain connected with you as you take breaks (or take your leave). Lastly, this gives me a place to be really intentional in service. My hope is to curate a monthly list of things that have served me in hopes that they might serve you

What to expect:
The content will certainly vary, and I think that's kind of exciting, but here are some of the types of ā€œsomethingsā€ you can expect to find in this digital letter on a consistent basis:

something I've written just for you (this'll be the longer section),
something I'm reading
something we're saying with our kids (saving this lingo just for you guys!),
something practical that's making life simpler
something I can't stop thinking about
something I'm listening to lately,
something you've asked for (requested links, word docs, FAQs),
and occasionally, something you're finding out first (regarding new projects, etc).
Each month, I'll conclude with something to leave you with (a sort of blessing or word of encouragement from me or from someone much wiser).

I am truly honored to have a place in your inbox.
If at any point it feels like I'm just taking up space, feel free to unsubscribe.
My hope is that this newsletter will allow us to connect more consistently
and meaningfully. I can't wait for next month!

with humble gratitude,

abbey

It really is such a humbling delight for me to be welcomed into your inbox. I long to be the kind of guest that enriches your life, not the kind who just takes up space, or worse, makes a mess! So, in the spirit of leaving your inbox better than I found it, here are two hostess gifts! These two things have been a lifeline for me in seasons where I just can't seem to focus or am struggling to discern the next right thing to do (or just remember to take the trash out). Maybe you're already on top of it, but if you're struggling to read the Bible or want to implement some new habits (or just make sure your plants get watered) I pray these will be a help!

ā€¦to leave you with:

The Christian life is not superhuman life. Itā€™s just human life.ā€

I'll save my best work and thoughts for this list, but I'll still be posting on the gram. If we're not connected there, I'd love for you to come follow along! Just click one of these ā€œlatelyā€ photos below. There's a reel on the 3-5 method this week if you want to check it out!
