New Art: to be named

Mid-August Update/Recap

I can't believe I'm typing this, but we have 1 week left of summer vacation! Even though August is only half over, with school starting, summer feels…over over. [sad trombone sound]

We enjoyed ourselves as best we could! We dealt with Covid, nasty colds, and oppressive heat. We also went to Philadelphia for a weekend, the kids went to camp for 2 weeks, we enjoyed a couple trips home to Massachusetts, and plenty of local fun with playdates and my first trip to the New Britain Museum of American Art with Lily. Oh, and watching lots of Bluey.

Personally, it's been a slower summer. I've been reading more, reconnecting with friends, taking care of my plants, and preparing for the new school year where I'll have more time for my own work each day. I

We have 7 days left, and we have a few exciting plans - tours of the kids' schools, go out to breakfast at our favorite spot, a day at the local amusement park, check out the local library's tiny art show, and maaaaaybe squeeze in one more beach day.

What's new in the studio?

I started painting ornaments! Yup, I stocked up on the round, woodcut ornaments after the holiday season, intending to work on them all year. At least I started now and not in November! I plan to start adding them to my website shop sometime in mid-to-late September, so stay tuned if that's on your radar!

I reached 100 subscribers on YouTube! Interestingly, the biggest driver to my channel has been a video I did about ADHD and bullet journaling, which is making me think about the kinds of videos I plan to make going forward. If you haven't subscribed yet, here's the link!

Wherever you are, have a beautiful week!
