This Week's Update
Good Morning My Dear Friends!
It's Friday! Let's Celebrate!

How has the last two week been for you? It has been a very busy couple of weeks for me! I have been busy testing some new products that were sent to me while gathering my thoughts on the products so I can write reviews for these products per the agreements I have with the companies who sent me the products, getting my eStore, Glam Budget Boutique ready for the big grand re-opening which is set for September 1st as well as keeping up with my Monday & Wednesday blog posts for Glam Budget Beauty and my weekly newsletters!

Now with all of that being said, something has to give, and that will be the weekly newsletters. This newsletter will be my last one until September 9th when I will resume writing and sending out my weekly newsletters. I will continue with the Monday & Wednesday blog posts and will spend the rest of my time with Glam Budget Boutique.

Speaking of Glam Budget Boutique, I have had two big technical issues with the store, one last week and one this week. Both times I had to submit a ticket to tech support to fix the issues and now I am behind schedule with the store. Now I have to work double time to get everything ready to go so the grand re-opening can happen on time! I know I can do it, but I need to dedicate most of my time to make sure it all happens, so be on the lookout for the grand re-opening announcement coming to your inboxes soon!

Well, that's all I have for you this week. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and I will talk with you all again on September 9th! Now on to the recap of what was published this week on the blog, my Friday faves and fails and a few other goodies to share too, so on to this week's update!

~Here's What I Have Been Loving This Week~

The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10% ($8.50 for 1 oz.) – I have been using this for a while now and I really do like it. I have noticed my facial expression lines on my forehead, between my eyebrows, around my eyes, my laugh lines and my lines above and below my lips have decreased some and have also smoothed out some too. I decided to give this a try when I heard this is like Botox in a bottle, but I would not go that far. Yes, all of my facial expression lines have diminished as well as really smoothed out too, but they are still visible, but not like they used to be. So, this is not Botox in a bottle, but it does work. If you are looking for a product that will diminish and smooth out facial lines over time, I do recommend this and I will be repurchasing again!

~Here's What I Have NOT Been Loving This Week~

Nivea Nourishing Care Body Wash w/Nourishing Serum ($4.97 for 20 oz.) - I have been using this for the last week and as of right now, I am not sure how I feel about this body wash! This doesn't seem to lather up as well as some of the other body washes I have tried, but I will say that when I step out of the shower and towel off, my skin does feel soft and smooth, not dried out, which I really like, but as for feeling like this body wash is actually cleaning my body (and I am sure it is), I am on the fence, because without the “lathering up” part, I feel that it isn't cleaning my skin like a body wash should. I will continue using this, but I do not know if I will repurchase.

Do Dogs Dream?
Good Morning My Wonderful Friends!
Friday Is Here! Let's Do The Happy Dance!

Hello everyone! I hope you all have had a great week! My week was full and now I am looking forward to the weekend! So, the other day I was sleeping soundly, and then I started moving my paws and whimpering a bit. Mama thought I may be having a bad dream, but then she thought dogs don't dream do they? Well, that go me thinking, so off to mama's computer find something that mama and you, my readers could read to understand how and when dogs dream and here is what I found:

~Do Dogs Dream?~

If you have ever watched your dog twitching, chattering, or moving their paws while sleeping, you may have wondered if they are dreaming. The answer is yes, dogs do dream!

While we know humans regularly dream during sleep, and for many years it was unclear if animals did. So, scientists monitored the brains of rats while awake and performing tasks such as running around tracks for food. They then compared their brain activity while asleep and discovered exactly the same. This indicated that rats were indeed dreaming. In fact, it’s likely that all mammals dream. So, what are your furry friends dreaming about? Dinner? Playing Fetch? Walkies?

Probably all of the above. Anything your dog does during the day is being processed while they sleep and relived in their dreams which then causes the twitching, the whimpering, and the running paws that we commonly observe. Dreaming is your dog’s attempt at understanding the information being processed in the brain. Your dog could also be dreaming about you, dreaming about your play session, walks or cuddle time together and of course, just like humans, the dreams of animals may not always be pleasant or based on realistic experiences (especially if your dog has lived in an abusive situation before living with you). But mostly our dog’s dreams are likely filled with chasing toys, finding a lap to snooze on or discovering ways to convince their pet parents to feed them again!

So there you have it! We dogs do indeed dream just like you do! That's all I have for you this week! I hope you all have an awesome weekend and I will bark with you all in a few weeks and remember, adopt, don't shop!

~This Week's Recipe~
Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast
~Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast~

This pot roast is rich and flavorful, with ultra-tender shreds of meat that basically melt in your mouth and this slow cooker pot roast recipe is super simple to make and lets you come home to the incredible aroma of a ready-to-eat dinner. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Boneless Beef Rump or Chuck Roast (3 to 3-1/2 pounds)
  • ¼ Cup Red Wine, Beer, Beef Broth or Water (for deglazing)
  • 6 Medium Carrots (cut into thirds)
  • 6 Medium Potatoes (peeled and quartered)
  • 1 Large Onion (quartered)
  • 3 Teaspoons Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 32 oz. Box Beef Broth
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 3 Tablespoons Water
Directions:
  1. Brown The Pot Roast - Start by heating the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the roast and brown it on all sides, about five minutes per side. When it’s finished, remove the roast to a platter and deglaze the pan with the wine, beer, broth, or water, using a spoon to release any burnt bits (if you are running short on time, you can skip this step, but browning the pot roast will give the pot roast more flavor).
  2. Prepare the Slow Cooker & Cook - While the meat is browning, place the carrots, potatoes, and onion in the bowl of a 6-quart slow cooker. Place the browned pot roast on top of the vegetables and sprinkle it with the steak seasoning. Add the deglazing liquid and the beef broth and cook, covered, on low for 10 to 12 hours, until the beef and vegetables are tender.
  3. Make the Gravy -Transfer the pot roast and vegetables to a serving platter and keep warm by tenting with aluminum foil. Pour the cooking juices through a fine-mesh strainer or into a fat separator to skim off the excess fat then pour the juices into a small saucepan and heat over medium-high heat until the juices are boiling.
  4. Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the juices and return the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture is thickened, about 1 to 2 minutes. Pour the gravy over top of the pot roast and serve with hot buttermilk biscuits with butter and enjoy!
