Whilst August yet wears
her golden crown,
 Ripening fields lush- bright with promise;
Summer waxes long, then wanes, quietly passing
 Her fading green glory on to riotous Autumn."
-  Michelle L. Thieme, August's Crown

Hello friends,
Are you savoring these last lovely days of August? As the poem above says, the colors are slowly fading into the glorious fall colors that we all love. Grasses, Rudbeckia, Sedum, and Asters are all coming into their peak, and pollinators seem to be busier than ever.

Here at Bella Botanica, our summer displays will do their own fading into autumn ones next week. Actually, transforming the shoppe for each of the seasons is one of my favorite things to do - just like you probably enjoy decorating your home for each season. But before August is over, we have one more celebration - my birthday. LOL! I am not one to make a big deal about my birthday, and usually I'm content to let it pass quietly, but this year I'd like to share it and somehow make it special for you, too. Besides, it's a great excuse to have cake! This Friday, August 26, the first 20 guests in the shoppe will get a delicious cupcake from Blackbird Bakery - gluten-free! I can't wait to taste them and share them with you! And there's more! . . .

 Save 26% on the 26th on your entire purchase!

We'll also be kicking off our new birthday program which will celebrate each one of you! More details to follow on that.

I hope you can drop by and say hello, and maybe find something that you just can't leave without.

Also, please note that we will be closed this Sunday, August 28.
Enjoy the rest of your August days.
See you soon,

We served this delicious herb & flower butter at a recent event and it's delicious! A beautiful and tasty way to use herbs and edible flowers from the garden. We used dill, thyme, rosemary, calendula, borage, nasturtium, and viola petals mixed with sea salt rolled up in unsalted butter. Here's the recipe.
