August Happenings at the ASCP! |
We hope you all have had a wonderful and relaxing summer! We can't wait to see your smiling faces on campus. With fall semester beginning, we have so many volunteer opportunities and exciting events to share with you. Keep scrolling to learn more about different projects and programs we have been involved with and upcoming ASCP events and happenings on campus. |

The ASCP would not be able to make such an impact without the help and involvement of all our campus friends and partners. We would like to highlight some of the amazing things that these individuals have accomplished in conjunction with the ASCP. Please check out these cool events and initiatives! |
The ASCP hosted its first Move-In Sale! At the end of the Spring 22' semester, our Waste Diversion team collected lightly used items from campus residence halls to divert waste from our landfills and rehouse quality items. We then supplied students with the opportunity to do some FREE environmentally friendly back-to-school shopping this August. We diverted over 3,550 pounds of goods. That is over the weight of two adult male kodiak bears! This data includes all of the donated items (furniture, clothing, bedding, personal care items, etc.) except for food. |
Creek Cleanups- July & August Here is an update on the Creek Cleanups that the ASCP hosted in July and August! During our July cleanup, the volunteer and staff team pulled 472 pounds of trash from the Cherry Creek, and our August cleanup resulted in 537 pounds! That equates to around the weight of three adult male panda bears. Thank you to all volunteers and EcoReps who donated their time to keep the Cherry Creek clean. Keep an eye out on our social media channels and September Newsletter for our following Creek Cleanup details. If you are interested in other volunteer opportunities, consider joining the EcoRep Program. |
