50 Years Since Title IX, The Women Who Champion Orange County Sports Presented By Knott's Berry Farm
In 1972, Orange County native, President Richard Nixon signed into law, the Title IX of the Education Amendments. Which requires that no person be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination on the basis of sex under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Decades later, this became a major driver for the growth and inclusion of women in sports. Many girls growing up have more and more opportunities to play. Fueling the passion that later lead to careers in the industry being athletes, coaches, GMs, marketers, reporters, media executives to name a few.

Participants learn from female business leaders, athletes, and local and national education leaders within the inspirational setting of the Rose Bowl Stadium.
The Symposium, executed virtually due to pandemic restrictions over the past two years, welcomed over 2,000 attendees from 33 states and 7 countries. It has been highlighted by keynote messages from influencers and iconic names such as former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Olympian Lauren Gibbs, Basketball Hall of Famer and Broadcaster Ann Meyers Drysdale, World Cup Champions Brandi Chastain and Julie Foudy, and actress and activist Sophia Bush, to name a few.
While women are our main target demographic, it’s also important for men to join this movement. We need to empower each other. Young female and male leaders of the future have benefited from the Rose Bowl Institute’s approach to learning from sports values and experiences.
The fall virtual program will once again highlight the three pillars of the Rose Bowl Institute: Sportsmanship, Leadership, and Citizenship through its key panel topics focused on empowering and inspiring. Click HERE to learn more and stay updated on event details!
September 19, 2022 (Watch Virtually on September 22, 2022)
The 19th is heading to Atlanta! Join us — and our partners Live Nation Women and Teen Vogue — on Monday, September 19 for critical conversations about the 2022 midterm elections. Hear from organizers and leaders about what’s motivating women, especially women of color, and LGBTQ+ people to come out to vote in local and state elections this November.
Editor-at-Large Errin Haines will interview Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia, Stacey Abrams, who has become a leading advocate for voting rights on the national stage. We’ll also bust myths around monolithic voting blocs and explore how recent legislation — like anti-LGBTQ+ bills and rollbacks on reproductive rights across the country — has pushed people on the margins to defend their personhood.
We’re also featuring a performance by Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Allison Russell. Click HEREto RSVP to meet in Atlanta, GA or the Online Watch Party!
