Apply ONLY provided ointment (Aquaphor) with a Q-tip several times a day for 7– 14 days. DO NOT over apply, less is best! Think of chap stick, and do not let area dry out! WHAT TO EXPECT AND DO POST TREATMENT: - Lips will be puffy/swollen/oozing plasma. Tenderness, firmness and redness are all normal.
- Apply ice pack 10 minutes on, 20 minutes off, for the first 6-8 hours following procedure to reduce swelling. Icing after 24 hours has no effect.
- Color will appear dark/dramatic as it heals (2-14 days). Total healing time for top skin layer is 14 days, under layer of skin is 28-30 days.
- Flaking/shedding in the healing area is normal! DO NOT pick at flakes, let them fall off naturally
- Sleeping elevated can reduce swelling, avoid salty/acidic foods. Drink plenty of water! Use straw
- Use a clean pillowcase for a week. We recommend a satin or silk pillowcase
- Use wet Q-tip if needed to cleanse area with cool water-no rubbing!
AVOID THE FOLLOWING FOR 14 DAYS: - Makeup on the lips, soap, toothpaste, mouthwash, teeth whitening, creams, NO smoking, scrubbing or touching treated area
- Never scratch or pick lip area. Let flakes of skin naturally shed off
- Long, hot steamy showers or baths
- Avoid eating large items like sandwiches or apples, these cause friction to lips
- Avoid acidic / salty foods
- Sweating / exercise
- Sauna or swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated water. Your lips are an open wound.
- UV exposure or tanning
- Retin-A or anti aging products, facials, laser light therapy on or near lips
- No lip fillers / injections for 2 months. Please wait until after your touch up session
- Avoid kissing loved ones ☹ your lips are an open wound trying to heal. Avoid bad bacteria.
6-8 week touchups: Please note there may not be openings available if you need to adjust your touchup appointment within the 6-8 week window.
