Dear First name / Parent,

We hope you've enjoyed your holiday weekend and you're as ready as we are for the start of the 2022-2023 school year!

A few quick notes and reminders are below.

WELCOME NIGHT:
What a special evening celebrating our young heroes, making promises as families, and crossing the threshold together into the unknown!  We look forward to learning and growing together this year and most importantly:  to stepping back and equipping our children as they begin to discover their own unique callings that will change the world.

HERO'S JOURNEY GAME:
This year's Over-Arching Question is:  “What is the Hero's Journey?”

Each of the seven sessions this year will ask a deeper question that always points back to this primary theme.

In his/her Welcome Night Swag Bag, your hero received a Hero's Journey bandana.

Below is a website link to a game you can download, print, and play at home - using the bandana as a game board - that will allow you to continue to explore this year's question with your hero.

PARENT RESOURCES:
You have been presented with a lot of information over the past few weeks and we will continue to learn together as the year progresses.  We are working to develop a private parent site that will house all important parent-related information - in one location. Including a Capstone-specific Family Plan which was referenced in your Parent Contract.

Stay tuned.  More details coming soon.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP:
As noted in the Parent Handbook, Heroes will begin each day with a Socratic launch that starts promptly at 8:30 AM.

Doors to the building will open at 8:00 AM and we recommend an arrival time of no later than 8:20 AM so that your learner is ready to participate in the morning discussion.

When arriving at the property, please drive straight (North) past the offices and circle around our building.  No need to park - you may drop off your learner at the back door where we gathered for our Threshold Ceremony.  Steve (Head of School) will be outside ready to greet your hero each morning with a customary handshake.

Please take this same route for pick-up at 3:15 PM.

POINTS OF CONTACT:
Now that the school year is officially starting, please direct all communication to Steve Kelly, Head of School:  steve@capstoneacton.org

If communicating anything schedule-related (illness, vacation, late arrivals, etc.), please be sure to include Jamie Spanner, Elementary Studio Guide: guide@capstoneacton.org

IMPORTANT:  We encourage you to always first go directly to your young hero with questions about his/her learning journey.

COMMUNICATION:
We strive to communicate the essential.  Email frequency will decrease as we move into the school year.

Going forward, you can expect to receive most alerts, updates, photos, and calendar/event notices through the Band App.
