BEAVER BITES

  • I'm sure everyone knows this by now, but since our last newsletter was sent out, The Queen, the longest-serving monarch in British history (and the head of 15 Commonwealth countries, including Canada) died at age 96. There is currently a 10-day mourning period.

  • Canada became a country in 1867 but Newfoundland didn't join until 1949. Why did it take so long? Check out this short and simple animated history documentary to learn more.

  • Canada is moving up in the world once again. This time, it's on the UN’s new Human Development Index. Canada is currently nestled in at 15th spot. You can download the full report here.

  • Ever dream of having an island all to yourself? Well, now you can. This very remote Airbnb cabin is located in Kenora, Ontario and requires a boat to access it.

  • The footwear industry is notoriously hard on the planet. However, Adidas and Allbirds just created the world’s lowest-carbon sneaker. Check it out.

  • Canada is getting another airline. Startup airline Canada Jetlines will start their operations with flights between Calgary and Toronto starting this month.
