Welcome to the seasonal edition of the newly named Green-house Club newsletter (...get it?). I am so happy that you are here, and welcome to the club new joiners.
Before I get started on my quarterly newsletter, I just wanted to pause and pay respects to the Queen. She felt the backbone of the country and it’s an odd thought that for rest of my life, I will now only know a King. There is a definite change of season and shift in the air. I thank Queen Elizabeth II for all her years of dedicated service.
Now, as the leaves are turning from sap green to burnt sienna, here is what is turning over in my studio, now and for the rest of the year.
I recently received a new delivery and now have most of the bags back in stock for immediate shipping.
You gotta be quick though, as they are literally flying off the studio shelves. Teal, Olive Green and Plum in The Colombianita have already sold out and is back as pre-order with delivery estimated for late November.
I am also road-testing some new designs, so watch this space for new pieces in the collection.
I will be painting baubles again for Christmas this year. There will be peonies like last year, but I have expanded to include birth flowers. Like star signs, each month has its own birth flowers, and I think this is a wonderful way to celebrate a loved one. Maybe a baby’s first Christmas, or the first Christmas in a new home, or that best friend who loves Christmas and all things personalised.
Pre-orders will be opening soon, plus personalisation is also going to be an option this year. So you can really make the bauble special and an heirloom to be passed down.
I will be taking part in the Wood Green N22 Open Studios in November. It’s the first time since the pandemic that we have been able to run the event, and there will be a huge array of artists and creative businesses opening up their doors this autumn.
It will be a great chance to meet me in person, see my art studio and buy directly from me. I will also have free art activities for the kids to enjoy.
Bauble workshops
Would you like to learn to paint your own favourite flower on a bauble for the Christmas season?
I will be running two workshop dates, one in November, one in early December.
Held at my studio in Wood Green, north London, the dates are:
Saturday 19 November (10.30am - 1pm)
Thursday 8 December (7pm - 9.30pm)
You will be taught by me, get one-to-one tuition and will have a flower bauble to take home with you afterwards.
That is everything. And there’s a lot! Join me as we shift together into a new season, and embrace the warm tones, the layers, and the togetherness of time. Embrace a beautiful touch of nature for your home.
One last word
When buying from a small business you:
1). Are gifting twice; once to the receiver but also to the maker and artisans who create the product.
2). Make a huge difference, even if you buy a small item.
3). Can help by spreading the word amongst your friends and family.
