Good morning!
Did you know? Early French explorers gave the Canadian Badlands region its current name due to the region's steep-sloped, flat-top mountains and deep, winding gullies, which were noted as bad lands to cross. We've also heard that some Indigenous Peoples, such as the Lakota, also called them Badlands because of the rocky terrain, lack of water, and extreme temperatures, which made them difficult to traverse. Long story short, before the invention of smooth highways and visitor centres, the badlands weren't as enjoyable to visit.
Speaking of the Badlands, we just got back from a week-long adventure, including Drumheller, Dinosaur Provincial Park, and everything in-between. As expected, it was a beautiful trip and much easier to travel through these days.
So enjoy the 85th edition of the Weekly Goose newsletter, which features a video about Drumheller, a guide to Yarmouth and the Acadian Shores, a travel guide to Drumheller, and more!
