Carla Stetson: “Knots, Webs, and Entanglements”
 
Carla Stetson is a visual artist currently living and working in a barn built in 1840 that she converted into her studio and home on four acres near Ithaca, New York. It is also the home to Sky Barn Apiaries.  Her work explores the tangled interrelationships between the wild and human in mixed media drawing, sculptures, and installations.

All media and skill levels are welcome! You just need to be a member (for as little as $20!), and your artwork must be under 12×12 inches for 2D, and under 12x12x12 inches for 3D.
Drop off up to three pieces between October 15th and November 5th at the TCAC.
110 West State St, Olean. This year’s show runs November 12 – January 14
*New this year! We are giving out awards in two categories, Amateur and Professional. (This includes 2-d and 3-d work in all media)
 
The awards are as follows:
  • Best in Show: $100 plus a year’s Artisan Membership (this allows you to sell in the TCAC Artisan Market)
  • Best Professional: $50 plus a year’s Artisan Membership
  • Honorable Mention Professional: $20 plus a year’s Artisan Membership
  • Best Amateur: $50 plus a year’s Artisan Membership
  • Honorable Mention Amateur: $20 plus a year’s Artisan Membership
  • People’s Choice (juried by vote): A year’s Artisan Membership

Interested in learning about Drawing & Acrylic Painting?  Consider signing up for our upcoming class!
 
This class is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced painters. Topics in this class will include: working with acrylic, learning elements of art/ design, creating the illusion of depth, present light in your paintings, and many more tricks and trades. This will be a still life themed painting and you will be encouraged to explore the realistic representation of it. Your instructor will provide clear instructions and work with you as a group, as well as giving individual attention to every student.

Welcome to Craft Night! Craft Night is an event you can bring in your own crafts and use supplies at the TCAC. It is a fun welcoming environment where you can relax and hang while making art!

In this class, you’ll learn to make your own pendant using recycled materials and two-part epoxy resin. For day one, we’ll focus on picking out the perfect images or texts for your pendant(s), fitting them into bezels, and pouring resin to preserve your designs.
 
For day two, we’ll take your finished pendant(s) and turn them into jewelry! 
Noted: Please bring your own ephemera. This will help you to personalize your piece and add a little more fun!
