Never in a million years did I think that I would be a victim of domestic violence.  The relationship started out with loads of lovebombing and the abuse began quickly and escalated as soon as we were married. Like most victims, people will ask “why didn’t you just leave?” BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW I WAS ABUSED. Yes, I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t truly understand what was occurring. It's been said if you place a frog in a boiling pot and slowly escalate the heat, the frog will not jump out. Before long the heat increases and the frog becomes acclimated to the heat and boiling temperature. That is exactly what happened to me and countless others. I learned that abuse affects all demographics, backgrounds, socioeconomic classes, professions, etc. Contrary to popular belief, narcissist abuse IS domestic abuse. By the grace and mercy of Yah,  I have overcome the odds to survive and THRIVE after domestic abuse and interpersonal violence.

As I recovered Yah placed a fire in me to help be a voice to the voiceless and give to empower the powerless. Narc Free Living LLC was birthed in 2020 to turn my pain into my purpose. I formulated Rock Your Crown (RYC) events for women to help them remember they are crowned. Our first RYC was held on June 1, 2021 on National Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day. The Narcissist Abuse Healing Club on Clubhouse was formed in January 2021 and held weekly support groups for survivors.  A Girls’ Girls Nonprofit was formed to provide women and teens resources and training so they don’t become victims as well. Chain Breaker University (CBU) was formulated to exhort, equip, edify, empower, encourage, and uplift survivors. Yah is taking wounded women to women of warfare! It’s been a journey to say the least and today I am married to a man of valor who breaks generational curses with me. I am proof that Yah gives us beauty for ashes and so are you!

Chain Breakers, join me in showing awareness for narcissist abuse.
Wear your purple and rock your Crowned tee along with me.

Blessings,
Shannon
