Hi friends!

I went to Canberra last weekend, just because I hadn't been in a really long time. The nation's capital is a pretty lovely place - my highlights were burning around on e-scooters to the galleries, playing around with a film camera a friend gave me for the weekend, and the free candy in the lobby of the Ovolo Nishi (formerly Hotel Hotel). The lowlight was my head being pooped on by a pigeon while I was feasting on Canberra's finest banh mi (I have an obsession), causing me to drop the largest and finest piece of lemongrass tofu onto the ground, then a magpie saw my vulnerability, flew at me and took a chunk of my sandwich. I gave up and fed the rest of it to the pigeons.

The arrival of spring means I can stalk the Collins Street falcons, the FalconCam project (a research project in Orange, NSW, studying the diet and use of a nest box of a family of peregrines living in a water tower since 2007), and a myriad of live nest cams run by the Cornell Lab or Ornithology.

Google any of them and you'll be delighted by tiny fuzzy chicks and doting parents.
