Welcome to our Education E-News!
Dear Chinese Museum Education Subscribers,

The Chinese Museum plays an important role in preserving the heritage of Australians with Chinese ancestry for future generations and to acknowledge the contribution they have made to the evolution of Australian society over the past 200 years to the current day.

Our mission is to enrich the understanding of Chinese Australians through the presentation and celebration of our history, heritage, and culture.

In 2022, we welcomed Tiffany Chimirri to the Education team in the role of Education Manager. Tiffany Chimirri has worked in the museum/gallery sector for over 15 years. Tiffany brings a wealth of experience in museum education and leadership from her time at NGV and The Dax Centre.

Tiffany started her career as a primary school generalist teacher. Following postgraduate studies, Tiffany went on to specialise in visual art education and English as an additional language. Tiffany has worked as a teacher in schools in the Government and Independent sectors as well as internationally. Tiffany is particularly interested in how object-based learning and the visual arts can enrich many areas of the curriculum by providing students with opportunities to develop cultural understanding, life-long learning, and critical thinking skills.

2022 History Teachers’ Association of Victoria Annual Conference
The Chinese Museum was proud to be involved the 2022 Annual HTAV Conference: History Rising held at Q Events by Metropolis in Melbourne. Teachers experienced two conference days filled with high-quality professional learning; sharing a much-anticipated physical reunion with rewarding networking opportunities.

Our Education Manager, Tiffany Chimirri was thrilled to be invited to present at the conference where she shared her expertise and spoke about the power of object-based learning and how visiting a Museum can not only enrich the History curriculum, but also develop cultural understanding and life-long learning.

On behalf of the whole team at the Chinese Museum, we would like to sincerely thank HTAV for the wonderful opportunity to participate in their 2022 annual conference and we can’t wait to be part of the conference program next year. Read more
