Welcome Babe
here is your complimentary lingerie guide!
Shalyn here!
I am so excited that you are here to start your boudoir journey!  We are going to have a blast!  I know that shopping and buying lingerie can be tough, so I am here to help make this process easy and fun!  Knowing what suits your body type and what lingerie works well will help you decide what to wear!  There are so many options out there, so I am hoping this guide will help make it easier!

First, lets talk about the different types of clothing you might be looking for when shopping for your session!

Bra & Panty Sets
There are so many gorgeous options out there, but one thing to consider is one that is flattering to your body shape!  Make sure that the bra fits properly, and nothing is being “spilled out” over the sides.  Make sure the bra is well-fitted and the area near the armpit is smooth.  Beware of push up bras, they don't look natural on camera.  If you still want some lift, try a demi cup!
Another important thing to consider are your underwear.  Make sure they are not digging into your side.  This will happen if the underwear are too tight.  You'll also want to check out cheeky and Brazilian options!  These tend to still give you some support, while showing the just right amount of booty!  Be careful of any soft of string undies, such as g-strings, etc.  As these tend to offer little support.  If the tummy area is a concern for you, try high waisted or a pair that come up higher to conceal the belly.  These will help conceal stretch marks/scars and still show off your gorgeous shape!

Bodysuits & Teddies
A teddy is a piece of lingerie that generally covers the torso and crotch in one garment.  Kind of like a one piece swimsuit but more sheer and sexy!  A bodysuit is very similar to a teddy and often called the same, but they are considered clothing but great for boudoir to!  These are one of my favorite styles!
Clients tend to love these because they look great on everyBODY.  If you would like more support, they do have some with underwire but some without look good to!  These help conceal stretch marks or any belly insecurities you might have!  They hide those areas but still make you look sexy and show off your body!
Look for details such as studs, lace, highlight your shape while cinching you in at the smallest part of your waist!

Corsets, Bustiers, and Garter Belts
A corset and a bustier are very similar, but the difference is usually a bustier has a bra built in, and a corset usually does not.  These provide some shaping control and also hide the belly.  Pair them with cute panties for a perfect look.
A garter belt is a belt worn around the waist or hips with attached garters or fasteners to hold up stockings.  Sometimes corsets and bustiers will also have strings that dangle from them and we can hook up thigh-high stockings to these or choose to forego them.
I personally love the look of thigh highs and i think it makes every outfit complete in so many ways!

Clothing & Shapewear
Clothing is a fantastic option for boudoir!  It might sound weird, but think about a hot leather jacket, ripped jeans and a sexy bra or a off the shoulder sweater/T-Shirt.  There are so many options for clothing that can be just as sexy, if not sexier then lingerie.
Jerseys do not photograph well unless they are a women's size and fit snug on you.  They tend to be thick, heavy, boxy fabric that doesn't show off your shape.  Instead, think of using a fitted Tee if you want to represent your team!

Also, leave all props, neon lingerie, baby dolls and “costume” like clothing at home.  I want the focus to be on YOU and I feel those things will be distracting to your photos!

Covering up….
If you are looking to cover up or hide any stretch marks or scars, remember we want to cover up not bulk up.  So try to wear things that are not bulky or too many layers as this can lead to added/unwanted bulk!  A bodysuit would be a great fit for you!
Another way to distract from the arms is to wear a long sleeved bodysuit!  These are totally a thing, and they're super gorgeous!
Of course if you ever have any questions about your outfits, please reach out and ask!
I'm happy to help you prep!

Sheets + Nudes
Do i need to say anything else?  So many of my clients say that this is the most empowering part of their session!  And you may not think you want to do sheets, but believe me, by time we are wrapping up your session, you'll feel confident and decide to take the leap.  You're there anyways, might as well do it, right? They actually tend to be my clients favorite images!  I have black, white and red silk sheets to pick from!
