I read a quote recently that went something like this:

"The climate is the most stable today that it will ever be in our lifetime." I’m sharing this today not to instil fear in you, but to hopefully inspire you to take action. Any action you can, no matter how big or small your business is, or whether you work for someone else. Your choices matter, and action is better than despair.

I've added a new print to the shop - one close to my heart. My mum grew up on King Island, and I spent every Easter holidays as a child there with my grandparents. Rock hopping, fishing, roaming free. The first time I went back there after my grandparents died, 27 years later, I spent one golden hour doing more rock hopping. Finding so many twisted and beautiful piles of brown kelp so common on the island, twinkling in the sunset.

This is King Island.

Definitions of free-range vary between different egg producers. The governments's voluntary standard for free-range allows producers to pack 10,000 hens into one hectare, compared to the CSIRO's model code of 1500.

Thanks to the Galah newsletter, I found this great link from Choice mag that lists how ‘free-range’ each egg brand is. The pic above is from Madelaine's Eggs, a certified organic, free range farm that is a few kilometres from me, and thanks to this list, I now know there are only only 250 hens per hectare from this local farm.
