BEAVER BITES

  • Despite a turbulent summer, Canadians' love for travel helped Air Canada’s earnings soar. Compared with 2021, the airline sold twice as many seats and earned $2.1 billion more.

  • Vancouver has now joined Toronto on the Prestigious Michelin-starred travel guide list with 8 restaurants that have made the cut.

  • It's not looking good for Porter Airlines, as they now owe $130 million to the owner of the terminal at Toronto’s island airport after refusing to pay fees during the pandemic. Ouch.

  • On the other hand, Air Canada is getting better as they order 15 Canadian-made Airbus A220 passenger jets, in addition to 45 ordered in 2016. Each jet costs a whopping $90 million.

  • Speaking of flights, the Airbus A220 has nothing on this little bar-tailed godwit bird that flies non-stop from Alaska to Tasmania, a journey that clocks out to approximately 13,560 kilometres, giving this little bird a world-record!
