Dear First name / Reader
Let's talk about TV detectives and their romantic partners.
Why?
Because I love a good detective show, and I also love a good detective couple.
One of my all time favorite shows is The Closer, and Brenda Leigh Johnson and Fritz Howard are at the top of my favorite TV detective couple list. Their relationship is supportive and smart. There is conflict between them embedded into their jobs, but in the end, they always help and support each other.
A close second for me is Castle and Beckett, but the knowledge that they didn't get along at the end of the series kind of tainted that relationship for me. Sad, sad, because I do adore Castle.
Then there is the tension between Maddie and David in Moonlighting. Like everyone else, the show lost its spark once they got together. The sexual tension couldn't be sustained, but it was sure good while it lasted.
My newest favorite couple is Miss Scarlett and ‘The Duke’ Wellington in Miss Scarlet and The Duke. A Victorian setting, cool clothes, great settings, and excellent mysteries. If you haven't watched it, you should!
Bones and Booth, Nick and Nora, Remington Steele and Laura Holt (their names make them classic), Maddie and David, Castle and Beckett, and Agents 86 and 99…they are all on my list.
A new entry for me is the dynamic duo Miss Scarlet and ‘The Duke’ Wellington, in their show on PBS Masterpiece. I mean, who doesn't love a pair of Victorian investigators?
