As we snuggle up on the sofa armed with our tea and yarn, we're entering our favorite time of year. Stephen West would say, ‘It’s hiberknitting time!'  Have you seen the shawl in Stephen's Hiberknitting annual escapade? It's called the Aurora Cabin Shawl, and it's gorgeous and full of the intricacies that make Westknits so fun. Check it out above, We're picking out some combos if you want to join Stephen on his annual knit along or if you want to get going on it now. These are a little heavy on the blue, but we can shake it up!

Talking about Westknits, did you join in the Twists and Turns MKAL or, for that matter, Casapinka's Sharon Air MKAL this fall? Here in the shop we're gearing up for some focused gift knitting as the July start date for gift knitting, that we always set, passed us by! Holly, Harriet and Tina are all busy making samples of Petite Knit's Sophie Scarf which might be a perfect gift and has taken Instagram by storm. It is simple and elegant and is a great use of that gorgeous skein of fine yarn you keep admiring in the shop. 

Finally, we've changed the Close Knit times. We're still excited to see you on Saturday mornings, but we will open up the table on Thursday afternoons now from 1-3pm rather than Wednesdays. November's Pop-Up Club from Dream in Color looks a little fluffier this month. They've paired a skein of Smooshy with Cashmere with a couple of skeins of mohair so you can make Pia Trans' shawl Skærsommernat. The shawl is large enough to snuggle up in, but still light enough to use as a scarf. It is knit in stripes of merino and silk-mohair, with lace sections in merino. It features two different lace patterns, and you can easily substitute one for the other if you like to.
