Hi friends!

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) started on Sunday. The conference presents an opportunity for different stakeholders to come together to try to find concrete solutions to the global climate emergency.

So this newsletter has a very loose theme related to COP27 and climate change - a call out for cosy little beds for rescued wildlife, an app to up your multilingual skillz, and a nifty calculator to estimate how much money you might save by switching from gas to electric (as well as doing good by the climate).

I'm currently comparing solar energy quotes, and will let you know how I did in two weeks, and the best resources I went to for info.

The Rescue Collective are after some more pouches and basket liners to top up their supply. If anyone is a dab hand with the sewing machine (which unfortunately is not me), they're particularly looking for medium, large and extra large sizes. Preferably made from polar fleece/ fleece, microfibre, sherpa or flannelette or anything else cosy that might be soft and warm for an orphaned joey of any species (no linen or knitted pouches required).

Fun fact - a wombat's pouch is positioned backwards, opening toward the her rear rather than her head. This allows her to dig without getting dirt in her pouch.

I recently discovered an app called Duolingo, a fun, free and effective way to learn a language. I learnt French up into university, but never became fluent (well, not even close).

This app is awesome, and I'm on a 56 day streak of practicing every day. It makes you talk, listen, and has cute little playful characters to interact with.
