A note from Emily & David
You might be confused by the character of God in the reading this week.  These chapters point out the difference between a God of judgment and a God of mercy. With a closer look it becomes clear that both characteristics display God’s love.  These chapters go back and forth between speaking to those against God, and those who love God. We love the lessons we learn from both. This week in Come, Follow Me we will be studying Nahum, Habakkuk and Zephaniah.

Here is what you have to look forward to:

A Stronghold
A Billboard
A Sure Path
His Presence

Promises to covenant
Israel from this week:
Nahum; Habakkuk; Zephaniah

I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe
I will stand upon my watch
I will make your feet like hind feet
I will visit them
I will turn away your captivity
I am in the midst of thee
I will gather the sorrowful
I will undo all that afflict thee
I will save
I will bring you again

Teaching tips for kids
Define the words justice and mercy.
Talk about why it is important for God to be a God of justice.
Then, talk about why it is important for God to be a God of mercy.
How do both of these show us a God of love?

Teaching tips for teens
Choose your favorite Conference talk from the most recent conference.

Read it and look for these four things:
What is one piece of counsel that would help you create a stronghold?
What is one quote you might find on a billboard?
What direction helps you find a clear path?
Which part of the talk teaches you about Jesus?

Don't Miss This in the New Testament
Preorders for 2023 Come Follow Me
Maybe you know this about us by now, but we are both visual, hands on learners.  Because of that, we are always trying to discover study tools that will help bring the scriptures to life in your home.  We will be using several different study tools this year, here is what we love most about each of them:

Videos:
For the New Testament we will be recording all new hour long vides, but this year they will be broken into ten minute segments in case you want to watch them for ten minutes every weekday, or you can watch them all at once.  These videos are totally free and can be found on YouTube or on our APP.

Journal:
The journals for the next four years have been totally redesigned with a theme in mind.  You will find questions to ponder daily that can be used for teaching or family discussions.  There are workbook pages based off of our most favorite part of each lesson that week.  You can also use these workbook pages for lessons or discussion.  There will also be a space for recording one name of Jesus Christ each week.

Devotional Book:
Perfect for a 5-10 minute lesson, these books can be used as a devotional every day.  This book is designed for personal study or family study.  We love to use ours around the dinner or breakfast table.

Word a Week Posters:
Perfect for a three minute study, these posters include one word and one verse a week for pondering.  Hang them somewhere in your home where they will be a daily reminder of Come, Follow Me.  This year we will be studying one name of Jesus Christ found in that week’s lesson.  By the end of the year we will have come up with 52 names.

Tip Ins:
These are small papers that can be glued right in your scriptures with tips and truths that will help to improve your study.

Stickers:
Use these colorful stickers in the margins of your Scriptures or in your Don’t Miss This Daily study journal.

Hopefully these tools will make your scripture study something you look forward to!
