Hi friends,

When you receive this, I will be excitedly teaching the first training session of my Goal-Setting workshop. I am enthusiastic about sharing what I have learned about this beautiful process with my students and helping them apply it to their lives. I am also proud that so much has improved since I first launched this workshop one year ago. The launch process was easier, and my confidence is now higher.

You would be interested to know that I have a ritual to prepare to teach, which I start weeks before the workshop. I call it "immersion." I immerse myself in the topic I will teach. For example, lately, all I have been listening to while driving is goal-setting-related content, either my own or by my favorite teachers. This way, I refresh my information and expand it.

When I listen to my previous work, such as recorded goal-setting sessions, I think about ways to improve it. Such as how to make it clearer to the new audience, when I need to install pauses, how else I could have answered a question, and what I need to do to upgrade the energy of some topics.

It's a powerful ritual that helps me stay connected to the subject even if I'm not working on it directly. I learned this tip from David Kadavy, which he calls a "Minimum creative dose."

What about you? Do you have rituals before important events? Please share with me some tips that I can use to get ready for an event like a workshop or a presentation. I'd love to hear from you, and I always read your replies and respond to them.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 inspiring things I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. 🧠 An excellent article: Biases: how they affect your career decisions, and what to do about them. So much changed for me a few years ago when I learned about Sunk Costs bias; I might do a podcast episode about it soon. Please read this article and share it with colleagues, especially those at career crossroads. Check what the website (80,000 hours) offers. It's rich and informative, especially for those seeking a social impact through their careers.

2. ⛔️ Seth Godin shares: "If you see a set of rules that don't make sense, that are overly stern, that seemed designed to be offputting instead of helpful, it's possible that the poster is leaving part of the memo unsaid." Check the reasons in his insightful post. When I read this, I remembered some rigid rules I came across in my career in the corporate world, and Seth is absolutely on point.

3. ♊ Are you a Gemini? Then you need to read this post from Nir Eyal, the author of Indistractable This article is not just for Geminis 😉.

4. ❓ A few Sundays ago, I told you I did the Five Love Languages quiz with my husband. Last weekend I did this quiz to learn my daughter's love language. The result was endearing. I recommend you do it to express love to the children in your life the way they prefer it. You'd be surprised that, given a choice, gifts might be the least preferable way. Although I suspect it will be my son's favorite 😆 . I will keep you posted.
Go here and choose (I am taking the quiz for my child), then ask your child the questions.

5. 💬 I love helping my future self the way the below quote suggests. Some examples would be: writing instructions for something I do once a month and taking photos of Christmas decorations before I remove them so I would remember the year after:

“You multiply your time by spending time on things today that will give you more time tomorrow."
