Good Morning,
The sun is shining in our part of the world and that means is harvest is in full swing. Our region of NSW has been impacted dreadfully by floods, with rains that seemed like they would never end. I actually cannot believe I'm now doing the sprinkler rounds in the garden !! It's been forever since that garden tank had a workout.

What have we been up to here?  ….. Well at the end of October we held our first ever Australian Boarding Schools Summit online with 31 schools exhibiting and a ‘watch on demand’ deep dive into boarding schools. Whether you're looking at schools, considering your options or you're already at boarding school there's definitely gold in there for all.

We've just finished recording our Summer Series Podcast where Adelaide  and I interview boarders from across the country.  Insightful short chats about settling in at boarding school, strategies, and tips for overcoming homesickness. Keep an eye out for it dropping next week and gifted for our new 2023 boarders. Do you know someone going to boarding school next year ? Let them know it's on its way.

Grab a cuppa, and enjoy catching up with a few things that caught our attention.

This is how they do it….
31 Boarding Schools Exhibiting Online

We are familiar with the sense that big changes on the horizon and as the school year draws to an end, for those kids heading off to boarding school it marks the beginning of a new chapter.  At the end of January the new crop of boarders will begin their journey. There'll be mixed emotions in the lead up, among them,  excitement, anxiousness, optimism and at times sadness. The next few weeks will be full of organising the new boarder, Christmas gatherings and summer holidays.
Our Summer Series of Destination Boarding (the Podcast) has been recorded for the kids going to boarding school in 2023 - whether they're heading off in Year 7 or Year 10 …. any year. Short chats with the current crop of boarders from right across Australia. They give  their best tips for nailing homesickness, best tips for making new friends and settling in, their ultimate packing tip and once all the dust has settled and they're loving their new digs, they tell us what they miss most about the boarding house when they head home for the holidays.
It's gold ! Adelaide and I were inspired by the insightful observations of these young students. Pop it on in the car or encourage your 2023 boarder to listen. They'll definitely get something out of it, and if nothing else, they'll know that their feelings and emotions are normal. There's comfort in that.
Dropping wherever you listen to your podcasts this Thursday 8th December.

Some of the things we're loving…..

There may be some things in this newsletter that you would like to share with a friend - let them discover the good news about boarding and building communities away from the places we call home.
Enjoy your week, subscribe to Destination Boarding - The Podcast and if you have a minute we'd be so appreciative if you could like and rate.
It really helps others discover it!
We'll be back in touch before Christmas, until then enjoy the lead up.
