Dear Friends,
The Christmas trees are up, and as it happens every year, I marvel at how lovely they are with their twinkling lights. Over the years I’ve collected a number of special ornaments that go with the themed trees. My beautiful Nativity scenes grace every room. I want to be reminded each day that the reason for the season is the birth of our Redeemer. That tiny Babe, lying in the manger, completely upturned our world with love. My prayer is that I’ll follow in His example.
Wayne and I are going to be traveling for half of December so our time at home will be limited. I intend to make the most of what few days I have: baking cookies and candy and making a variety of other treats. These are more than gifts from my kitchen, but gifts from my heart to family and friends.
Just before Christmas we’ll gather as a family for our traditional white elephant exchange, with often hilarious results, our gift exchange, and our holiday dinner.
