Hello dear First name / one,
I have seen something I cannot unsee.

Over the last few moons, a truth was revealed to me as if by traversing I had come upon a valley I’d never known was there. My own internalized stories, excuses, and explanations raised themselves like battle flags varicolored with emotion against my draw into the new and yet unknown place where this truth lived. These stories—long held beliefs about myself, the world, and how I interact with it were long overdue for transformation. And when they finally wore themselves out from waving violently in front of my eyes—trying in vain to obstruct my vision—I laid them down.

I hope their fibers disintegrate. I hope the earth takes them in with the compassion of a mother. These stories were not explicitly harmful to me or anyone else, they just no longer served my trajectory. They were not made for this new perspective. They brought me here, and now I let them go.

Six months ago, at the Gemini New Moon, I wrote about the Both/And paradox; the skill of holding two separate truths in each hand.

The alternatives born out of acknowledging the wholeness of each contradictory “thing” expand our ability to resolve conflict, to grow. Although it isn’t always the easiest, personally, I’d rather take the time to really understand the parts of me that are resistant, the parts of me that balk. I can honor the stories that have served me well until now, but if I am to commit fully to this new perspective, not all of them can come with me.

This is not another treatise on grief, despite its nonlinear tendencies. This is about the physiology of letting go and holding on. Like when you first learned the monkey bars, and before making the move to release one bar in order to reach for the next, you froze. One hand in the past, one hand in the near future, and what lay beyond would require your commitment both to the releasing and the reaching.

As we are deep in the season of reflection, as our Gregorian calendar winds down and the last full moon of the year illuminates our skies, we are invited to take stock of where we have expanded this year. What have you reached for? What have you let go in order to do so?
We stand at the space in between, the middle of the bridge, the heart of the river. And right now, there is no pressure to be on either side.

I’ve heard from some folks feeling lost or out of touch with the usual bubbly, expansive energy of this season. Especially with Jupiter moving direct and the sun in Sagittarius, why are they not feeling that festive, electric charge? But if you haven’t felt that fire yet, this full moon could introduce you to something you may not have expected.

Tonight’s Full Moon in Gemini—peaking at 8:08 pm PDT—lends an emotional coolness and the ability to intellectualize one’s feelings. But it also makes a rare connection to Mars: conjunct, but blocking it from earth’s view in a pattern called a lunar occult. When a Full Moon eclipses Mars, we are given the opportunity to reflect on our inner warrior.
How has your assertiveness served you thus far?
What have you learned from the actions you’ve taken, or how you’ve taken them?
Could you afford to commit to your passion?
Or perhaps you’ve blazed on through without checking to see if that was a stop sign back there.
Usually a Moon conjunct Mars would lend us more heat, more expressiveness and action. But this moon is gracious enough to afford us time to think before jumping.

That being said, there are other harmonious aspects that could have us feeling a little more optimistic, passionate, and creative with our relationships. We could see some lovely flirtation coming to fruition, if not all out succumbing to fantasy. If you have made mistakes, this is an opportune time to recognize where you may have burned others and to make amends. But by the same token, if you’ve been a little shy lately, now would be as good a time as ever to shoot your shot. Do keep in mind that taking responsibility for yourself doesn’t mean that others will, and it would be wise not to expect recompense lest you waste your invaluable attention waiting at a table for one.

FOR THE BODY

Gemini rules the shoulders, arms, and hands; paired organs like the lungs; exchange system of the capillaries; and the neurological connections for motor skills.

â—¦

There are 8 small bones in the wrist, all the better to articulate it in any direction you need! Show those carpals some love and rotate your wrists slowly, gently shaking out the fingers at the end of each rotation to release tension.
â—¦

If you're familiar with 4-7-8 breathing, take it up a notch by pursing your lips on the exhale to create a little extra pressure that will strengthen the lungs and the release of carbon dioxide.

â—¦

Strengthen your capillaries with kale, mustard greens, or collard greens, which are all high in vitamin K.

â—¦

Add gingko supplements to your morning routine to support the mind, and use lavender to soothe the senses at the end of the day.

â—¦

Work with and wear agate, clear quartz, and lapis for clear communication.

Six months ago, I started writing down my plans in concrete, step by step ways. I would write what I desired first, then work my way back. One desire at a time, I came up with concrete plans, and then actionable tasks, and when something came up or a task created a new result, I went back and altered the plan. This method doesn’t work for everyone, and it’s only one of the several I recommend and teach folks as we navigate transition. But I would be lying if I said that six-months-ago-me wouldn’t believe where I am today. She would. And she’d be damn proud of most of it.

This season we are in is one of culmination, of celebration. Hanukkah, the festival of lights, starting on the 19th, while Yule and the solstice on the 21st are right around the corner preceding the New Moon. and, although it can feel hopeless at times, celebration (however you define that for yourself) is an important experience to wrap up seasons of our lives and recognize the arenas of our lives where we are abundant and in good fortune. As important as it is to “do the work," I have yet to hear anyone else say it's imperative to “be at play.”
Please play.
Please find time to be silly, to find the humor, to let yourself love and be loved and radiate that infectious glow you have.

If you’ve been waiting for Office Hours, it’s coming back! This offering got sidelined when the physical location became a reality. I was needed to install and fine tune new systems for HB HQ, and I was maxed out on availability.
But Office Hours will be back in January 2023
Keep an eye out later this month for dates and times to grab your seat and have an open dialogue about your design.

Last year, I also created a series of videos about the Human Design New Year and y'all seemed to really like them! I’ll be expanding upon that offering next year, and cannot wait to share more details with you at the New Moon in Capricorn Moonsletter. Not sure what the Human Design New Year is? Check out last year's page.
