Addressing a “lonely, lonely disease" |
|
The actor Amy Schumer, 41, underwent a hysterectomy to help manage symptoms of endometriosis. In an upcoming docuseries, she shares: "It was just this pain you can't see…there is the inclination to always think a woman is just being dramatic. You tell someone you get really bad cramps and they’re like "Oh, well, being a woman…' And you're like, 'No, it's irregular.'" One of the biggest gaps in chronic reproductive healthcare is one of the most shockingly basic: believing people when they say they are in pain. At ELANZA, we're expanding our platform and working on a new virtual care space where people across the US with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain can more easily connect with top specialists who vow to really listen and validate their experiences, and bring an evidence-based, personalized approach. It's time for change. Get more info here - or share this on to benefit a friend or family member. |
