San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors approved the adoption of a new Paso Basin Planting Ordinance despite strong opposition.
 
The purpose of the ordinance was to bring the county into Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) compliance.  The ordinance comes with several regulations including limiting farmers to 25 acre-feet per year (AFY) for the next 22 years.
