Hi friends and happy new year!

I'll keep this one brief - I'm packing to go camping tomorrow in Gippsland. A rooftop tent, loads of books, binoculars for some twitching, and a huge telephoto lens to practice wildlife photography while my better half practices fly fishing.

I've put a recap of good news below - it's such uplifting reading, and I love, love, love the quote “The world didn't fall apart last year. I love this statement from Future Crunch - my favourite source for good news. They teamed up with my second favourite good news site, The Progress Network, to put together 99 good news stories from 2022. Do yourself a favour and have a read.

Now that I'm in my 40s, I figure I'm in the second half of my life (or almost if I'm really lucky). So this book by Arthur Brooks is very relevant - the roadmap for finding purpose, meaning, and success as we age.

Only 3% of total philanthropic giving goes to environmental causes, so joining 1% For the Planet means you'll have to support environmental non-profits, but you can choose to support the ones that align with the issues you care most about.
