Saturn and Pluto Move into New Signs
Under the power and magic of this wildly out-of-bounds full moon in Cancer, also known as The Magi Moon in the school’s history, I am sharing some provisional thoughts about the two major planetary ingresses in 2023:
Saturn into Pisces on March 7, and Pluto into Aquarius on March 23.
On March 7, 2023, at 13:35 UT, Saturn enters the sign of Pisces. Saturn was last in Pisces from May 21, 1993, until April 7, 1996, (including a brief retrograde back into Aquarius). This return to Pisces on March 7, 2023, will last until an initial ingress into Aries on May 24, 2025. The experience these past few years with Saturn in Aquarius emphasizes the important need to differentiate between the essential intent of Saturn as a planetary process from the way most have interpreted Saturn in the last 2000 years or so. For the greater historical time-frame beyond the last 2000 years, Saturn symbolized an operating manual for surviving well in 3D density. This included practical advice like not jumping off cliffs or sticking your flesh into fire. It was also a time-keeper, known as the great chronicrator, and correlated with phases of life and the maturation process.
On March 23, 2023, at 12:24 UT, Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius. Pluto was last in Aquarius from 1778-1798, a time of major change all over the world. There won’t be another such time for 248 years! Unlike many other schools of astrology, TOTAMS sees Pluto also as archetypally Feminine – the dark underworld feminine of such goddess figures as Kali, Durga, Ereshkigal, aspects of Shakti, and Hecate. Like the patriarchal hijack of Saturn, a similar thing happened when Zeus allocated the entire world to the three brothers, and since then Pluto/Hades is assumed to be masculine. Pluto’s transit through a sign will reveal the shadow of that sign by amplifying the main essence of the sign, increasing its power, and exposing its secrets.
The Magi / Epiphany Full Moon
 by Daniel Giamario
On the early morning of January 10, 1982, I was camping in the Wonderland of Rocks at Joshua Tree National Monument. Earlier the previous day had been a total Lunar Eclipse (19Cancer14), though not visible in the Americas. That night, one of the most remarkable experiences of my entire life happened. A large and evocative rock formation which I now refer to as Grandfather Rock, spoke directly to me and imparted specific instructions: “Apprentice with me, come be with me one weekend a month for a year.”
I followed those instructions, and over the next year, almost all of the main components of this astrological paradigm, as well as what became the first wave of the school emerged. For me, this was both an epiphany and a revelation. I have so much gratitude for that night.
Ever since, the Cancer Full Moon is the Magi Moon for myself and the school. And the Full Moon of epiphanies, revelations and transmissions.
I strongly suggest you go out, experience this Full Moon, and see what kinds of epiphanies and revelations you receive!

It’s official! We’re into a new year! I love that “wiped the slate clean” feeling.
What do you want to create in this new year for yourself?
How does astrology support you in being more you?
Astrology is all about why you’re here! Why did your soul come here and what are you meant to be doing? Tuning into your natal chart is an excellent place to begin. It’s the map. If you’re wanting to create some new things this year, looking to astrology will help. Perhaps you already know what you want out of 2023. Maybe you don’t, but you’re feeling a need for some changes. Wouldn’t it be great to either confirm you’re on the right track or get help finding the track in the first place? (→ continue reading via link above!)
Earth at Perihelion
by Erik Roth
The Earth’s orbit is not a perfect circle. There is one day where it reaches its closest point to the Sun and a day at its farthest point. Perihelion is when our blue jewel of a planet comes to its nearest point, and that day happens in early January each year (currently).  The disk of the Sun is slightly larger at this time while slightly smaller in July. It will happen on January 4, 2023, at 9am PST / 12pm EST with the Sun at 14°03’ Capricorn in the Archer constellation and not far from its zodiacal opposition with the star Sirius (14°23’ Cancer).
Perihelion is upon us as Earth will be only .9833 AU (Astronomical Unit) from the Sun (with 1 AU about 93 million miles, the average distance between the Earth and Sun).  This translates to the Earth being only 91.4 million miles from the Sun or over 1 ½ million miles closer to the Sun on January 4. On the opposite end of Earth’s orbit is its aphelion (farthest point from the Sun) at 94.5 million miles from the Sun, which takes place in early July each year (→ continue reading via link above!)
